1. Check-In & Initial Inspection
As soon as your shocks arrive—either in person or via shipment—they go through a thorough visual inspection. We document all visible wear, damage, or leaks, and note any specific requests or performance issues.
This check-in report is added to your service file and serves as the baseline for your rebuild.
- Oil leaks
- Bent shafts or misalignment
- Missing hardware
- Previous service indicators
- Review performance issues and review specific tuning requests
2. Degreasing “Hot Bath” Cleaning
Next, we wash every shock body in a temperature-controlled degreasing tank—what we call the “hot bath.”
This solution is specially formulated to break down grime, oil, and
trail dust without damaging seals, anodized finishes, rubber components,
or coatings.
- Prevents contamination during rebuild
- Helps spot fine cracks or wear points
- Extends the lifespan of internal components
3. Full Disassembly & Hand Cleaning
Once cleaned, we fully disassemble each shock by hand. Internal parts
like pistons, shims, seal heads, and shafts are removed, inspected, and
cleaned one by one. We never reuse worn components or skip this
step—this is where we find what cheap services miss.
- Individually inspected under light
- Cleaned with precision tools
- Checked for wear, corrosion, or fatigue
- Measured against OEM specifications
4. Reassembly with Premium Seals & Fluids
Your shocks are reassembled using OEM or better-grade seals, fresh oil, and new nitrogen charges (if applicable). We use only industry-trusted components and fluids to ensure your rebuild holds up to heat, pressure, and punishment on the trail or track.
At this stage, we can also:
- Adjust valving to match terrain or driver style
- Install upgraded internal components (on request)
- Modify damping for high-speed or crawling performance
5. Final Inspection
Before your shocks go out the door, they undergo a final quality check. We verify torque specs, ensure seals are properly seated, check for residual leaks, and give each shock a clean, professional wipe-down.
You’ll receive:
- Clean, fully rebuilt shocks ready to install
- Notes on any replaced parts or service observations
Note for Full-Size Vehicles
Podium Suspension is a shock service center only — we do not remove or reinstall shocks on full-size vehicles in-house. However, we partner with a trusted local shop next door and are happy to coordinate that service for local Arizona customers.
